01The kaupapa

It all starts with a seed.

East Coast Cannoli is a 36-plus hour cannabis culture journey for fewer than 20 people, from Tāmaki Makaurau to Te Tairāwhiti and home again, in April 2027.

A seed holds everything it needs to grow. But real craft comes from understanding what surrounds the plant: the whenua beneath it, the kaitiaki who tend it, and the knowledge handed down between generations. This journey brings them together.

Our inspiration is Frenchy Cannoli, the renowned hash maker known for his respect for place, growers, craft and shared knowledge. This is our interpretation of his teachings, made our way, in Aotearoa.

02The community

Community is the root of culture.

Community grows through people, connection and the care we put into our relationships.

Decades of passion and hard-won knowledge have laid a strong foundation, built by generations who respect where we’ve come from and are still hungry to learn.

That’s the culture we’re here to nurture.

03The journey

We take you full circle.

Tāmaki Makaurau to Te Tairāwhiti by way of the Bay of Plenty, and home again. Getting you there and back safely is only the start.

The rest happens in between: the stops, the conversations, and the moments that pull you into where you are.

The question is: who comes back?

A journey should do more than move you. It should shift something.

04Under the moon

Some things only make sense when you're there.

We can tell you where we’re going, who’s helping shape it, and some of what to expect.

The real experience lives in between: the people you meet, the kai you share, the places you stand, and a night under the moon on the Coast.

Not everything needs explaining. Some of it simply needs to be experienced.

05The values

Take less. Leave more.

If the Coast gives to us, we have a responsibility to give back. That principle shapes every decision: who we work with, where we stay, what we eat and what we leave behind.

Aotearoa has never lacked passion or creativity. What’s often missing is a place where different worlds meet on equal ground: legacy and emerging culture, community and industry, growers and creatives. We’re here to make room for that, and to imagine what comes next, together.

So we keep the value with the local people, businesses, producers and artists who make this possible. We respect the whenua, acknowledge every contribution, and work with people who share our kaupapa.

If the experience only benefits the people attending it, we've missed the point.

06What's included

Looked after from start to finish.

From departure to return, here’s what we look after.

  • Transport

Getting you there, around and home again.

  • A few surprises

Things we'd rather you discover when you get there.

Some things have value because they can't be bought.

07The cultural archive

History is remembered by those who document it.

Our stories will be told one day. Rather than leave that to chance, we’re telling them ourselves. With Temuri Films, we record the people, places, conversations and moments that make this journey what it is, so they live on long after it ends.

Frenchy’s willingness to share his knowledge helped open the path that led us here. Out of love and respect, we feel a responsibility to do the same.

08The collaboration

The door is open.

We never meant to build this alone. Collaboration has shaped East Coast Cannoli from the start.

If you can add something meaningful to this journey or future ones, as a collaborator, contributor or sponsor, and our values align, we’d like to hear from you.
