Questions

Before you ask.

The practical side of East Coast Cannoli. Anything marked TBC is still being confirmed. We'd rather say so than guess.

About the journey

What is East Coast Cannoli?

A small-group cannabis culture journey: fewer than 20 people, 36-plus hours, travelling from Tāmaki Makaurau through the Bay of Plenty to Te Tairāwhiti and home again in April 2027.

It brings together whenua, growers, craft and community, and it’s made by five partners from across cannabis culture in Aotearoa.

Who is Frenchy Cannoli?

Frenchy Cannoli is the inspiration for this journey. He’s known for his respect for place, growers, craft and shared knowledge, and East Coast Cannoli is our interpretation of his teachings, made our way, in Aotearoa.

Joining

Who is it for, and is there an age limit? (to be confirmed)

Adults only. The exact minimum age is still being confirmed, and we’ll publish it here before any seats are offered.

Beyond that, it’s for people who feel a connection to the culture, the craft or the whenua. Some seats will be filled through relationships, contribution or collaboration. Some will go to people we simply haven’t met yet.

How much does it cost? (to be confirmed)

We haven’t published a price yet. It will be shared with shortlisted applicants before anyone is asked to commit to anything.

Expressing interest is free and doesn’t lock you in.

How does selection work, and when will I hear back? (to be confirmed)

Start by expressing interest: tell us who you are and what drew you here. It isn’t a booking, and it doesn’t commit you to anything.

With fewer than 20 seats, we’re filling them with the right people. The selection steps and timeline are still being finalised. We’ll confirm both with shortlisted applicants before any commitment, and update this page once they’re set.

What if I need to cancel? (to be confirmed)

Cancellation and refund terms haven’t been set yet. We’ll share them in writing with shortlisted applicants before any commitment.

Logistics

When is it, and how long does it run? (to be confirmed)

April 2027. Exact dates aren’t confirmed yet. We’ll share them with shortlisted applicants and post them here once they’re locked in.

The journey runs for 36-plus hours, leaving from and returning to Tāmaki Makaurau, so plan for at least two days.

What's included, and what isn't? (to be confirmed)

Included: transport throughout the journey, accommodation on the Coast, kai and shared meals, experienced hosts and invited contributors, a custom participant pack, film and photography throughout, and a few surprises.

We’ll confirm what isn’t covered, including how you get to and from the departure point in Tāmaki Makaurau, with shortlisted applicants.

Can you cater for dietary, access or medical needs? (to be confirmed)

Tell us once you’re shortlisted, and we’ll talk it through with you.

The journey involves a lot of travel and at least one night away. We’d rather be honest about what we can accommodate than promise something we can’t, so we’ll confirm the details with you directly before you commit.

Safety, legal & consent

How do we get around, and how is safety handled? (to be confirmed)

We provide transport for the whole journey, and getting everyone there and home safely is the first part of our job.

Details of vehicles, drivers, accommodation and safety planning will be shared with shortlisted applicants before any commitment.

Will I be filmed or photographed? (to be confirmed)

Film and photography are part of the journey. Recording the people, places and moments is how we build the cultural archive.

We’ll confirm how consent works, including whether you can choose not to appear and how images are used afterwards, with shortlisted applicants before anyone commits.

Collaborating

How can I collaborate, contribute or sponsor?

The door is open. If you can add something meaningful to this journey or future ones, and our values align, tell us about it on the collaborate page.

Still curious?

If your question isn't here, mention it when you express interest and we'll answer it directly.
